Murphy’s Irish Pub
Anonymous Letter Threatens Black Dragons
By Tiffanie Zenovka – 4/8/2024
Just one day after the article reporting the fire at Murphy’s Tavern, a note arrived at PCNN addressed to this reporter. The note was dropped off at some point during the night, apparently, as it was found inside the mail drop box with no envelope. It was unsigned and had no postage markings indicating that the note was dropped off in person, by hand.
The contents of the note seem pretty clear and easily understood to be a threat against the notorious Black Dragons and their properties and business holdings.
The contents of the note are copied here, so that you, our reader, can interpret it for yourself. It reads:
“This fire was no accident. This blaze was overdue. Murphy’s Pub has become a den for the most repugnant scum in the city. Make no mistakes… this was retribution. They say that revenge is a dish best served cold, but I disagree. I find it best served with smoke and embers. Death to the Black Dragons. This isn’t the end.”
At least to this reporter’s understanding of the note, it seems unquestionable that the author of the note fully intends to continue a rampage of destruction as some form of vendetta against the apparent rival gang.
This publication will inform the Police Department that this note has been received so that they can do any sort of forensic testing or handwriting analysis they may have available in an attempt to identify the author.
We will continue to keep you updated, dear readers. And as always, call 911 with any information, or call this reporter so she can report it for you!
